Web Application processing Terminated

Former Member

I am trying to execute a BW query from Enterprise Portal and I am getting the following error.

Web Application processing Terminated.

When I click on this message I am getting the following diagnosis.

The system had to terminate processing of the Web application.

The reason could be that the system was no longer able to find the Web application server session.

System response

Processing the navigation step is not possible.

Procedure

Call up the Web Application again.

Note: Use the start URL and not the URL that is currently displayed in the Web Browser.

Procedure for System Administration

Notification Number BRAIN 278

Can you please help me on how to resolve this?

Thanks & Regards,

Srihari

3 solutions:

1. use firefox

2. Prio to 7.0, set in template the no_session_cookie=ture

3. After 7.0, in portal "bex" iview, set query application parameter no_session_cookie=true since the template parameter is removed.

Hello,

I have also the same problem. But I think it must be a local PC problem in my case - or a web browser problem, because I am able to run the report in Mozilla Firefox but not with Internet Explorer. And I have even tested that it works on other laptops running Internet Explorer. So if anyone have had the same problem and solved it, please let me know. I run Internet Explorer version 7.0 5730.11 on a IBM Thinkpad T42.

Have you added an application server to your set-up?

Are you able to execute this query directly from BW?

Are you able to execute any query from the above BW system through the Portal?

Matthew,

Thanks for your response. I am able to run queries directly from BW. But, when I try to execute them from portal, I am getting the above error. I am getting this error for all the queries and after 5 or 6 attempts they are running fine.

Thanks,

Srihari

Srihari,

I am unable to give you any conclusive answer: You say that it runs fine after 5 or 6 attempts - does it continue to run fine from then on or does it happen again?

It could be a resources issue on the Portal side or in communication between the Portal and the BW system.

Matthew,

The problem reoccurs every time I tried to execute BW query from within the portal. It works fine after 5 or 6 attempts. But, if I try to run it again, then I get the same problem again. Please let me know if you have any idea.

Thanks,

Srihari

Srihari,

Sorry, I could not get on SDN yesterday.

My feeling is that this is a resources problem. Could you give me a description of the system on which your portal is running and the network connecting the Portal with the BW system?

Also, you could try and execute the query when there is no other user on the portal.

Mathew,

The Portal is installed as a stanalone system. I have created the BW system in portal and tested successfully with SSO. This problem has started recently. It used to work normally before. I am getting this error even when I am the only one signed on to the portal.

Thanks,

Srihari
