Hi all,

I have a CE 7.1 SP4 installation + ESR. I have tried to find the SAPGlobal software component in my SLD but it is not there. Should I not have it there or there is some mistake?

Best regards,

v s

VS,

The default installation of CE 7.1 SP04 with ESR only has the BASIS 7.1 Software Component. You need to import additional component from SAP Market Place based on your needs.

Location: Support Packages and Patches ->SAP Content->ESR Content (XI Content)

Hi,

thanks for the reply. On the Support Packages and Patches ->SAP Content->ESR Content (XI Content) page there is industry specific content. When I import it, i get only specific types. Is there any SAP Global content, that includes many SAP defined GDTs for example, that are not spcesific to some industry?

Thanks in advance,

Hello V S

The GDTs that we ship are part of the SAP BASIS Software component versions and are already available to you. You could drill down to the list of the datatypes and can find them under the namespaces http://sap.com/XI/Basis/GLOBAL

Hi Rathish,

Thanks for the reply!

I have one more question related to this topic.

Since I have only CE 7.1 SP04+ESR installed, the only way to create services using the esr is to actually

1. create my own service definitions in the ESR(process comps, business objects, service operations...), or download what I need from the marketplace,

2. then create the java beans in the NWDS (client and provider, wsdl -> java),

3. create the business logic in the NWDS,

4. publish the services on my Service registry and then

5. use them.

Is that correct?

Or other possibility is just to test some services provided by sap through the https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace page?

Hello VS

You are right. Provisioning of services is one of the key use cases in CE. However, It is not limited to Java. You can also configure your ABAP backend to work with the ESR (if you have one).

Another possibility is to view information about Enterprise services by importing them into the ESR. For instance, for one of the demo we are building - we imported the services metadata of all the Enterprise services so that we can better understand what is the input expected for these services and what the exact metadata is, etc.
