Number of Columns in Alv List

Hi All,

I wanted to know is there any limitation to number of columns in ALV list.

I had a requirement in which the ALV will have 176 columns to be displayed. Is this possible? If yes what will be its effect on performance of the report?

Is there any other alternative?
