for any material type u can a set of material master views but you can not make any view for any material type to mandatory its always an optioanl thing if user wants he can have it if not then leave it

what u can do is u can reduece the views for a material type for example for material type NLAG or non valuateed goods u will not find the accountung view in MM01 wherease for roh that is raw material this viw is avilable

classificatioview is used to assign characterisitcs to a material

suppose my article or material is PEN now the char. for pen can be

a) colour

b) wieght

c) ink type

so to represent this thing in system what i am going to do is to create the char. using tcode ct04

there i will create 3 char.

now i need to integrate these charct. or i need to club them togethere so what i am going to do is create a class using tcode cl02

and class type can be 300 or 001 etc.

purpose of class type is to specify the purpose of creating the char.

like may be u r creating class for release strategy or for batch management or for the configurable material etc.

like in our case we have materil pen with some specification so how to represent it in the system

solution is use calssification view or tcode cu41(for config.)

after creating the class then u assign this class to the material master
