CIN IN RETURNS PROCESS

Dear Gurus,

How to we manage excise part(CIN) in customer returns process if plant is shown as

1.depot

2.factory

how is the process ....pls suggest step wise with t codes and how to chech postings are correct.

I had been through the search but its not clear...
