Hi Gurus,
Can neone tell me About BOM.
ITs relevance to material.... Also there are two things in BOM...
MATNR and IDNRK....i.e material number and Zpack Material number...Can neone tell me relevance of the same...
Also let me know....About the Tables such as stko and stpo.
Hi Navin,
BOM - bill of material, Stückliste ~ component-list
In the BOM you define which components you need to be able to (e.g.) produce the parent material. So there is a parent material and there are children materials (components).
In production you use the children materials to create the parent material.
E.g. parent material > mobile phone (you want to produce this), children materials > keypad, display, gaskets, plastic covers, etc.
We can speak about single and multi-level BOMs. Multi-level BOMs consists of several single-level BOM.
(single-level: CS01/2/3; multi level: CS12; CSMB)
In SAP BOMs are stored in tables MAST-STKO-STPO.
The MTNR (in table MAST) mentioned by you means the material number (ID) of the parent material, IDNRK (in STPO) means the part number of the components (ID of components).
Several componets can belong to one parent material.
In SAP there are several sorts of item (components) category: stock, non-stock, text, document,...
This is a wide subject, please examine the help, browse the threads, or ask the forum members.

Hi Navin,
You can create so called 'order BOM' for sales order (items).
Generally you have so called 'material BOM' that is order-independent but sometimes you might have to fulfill your customers wishes and you might have to carry out some small changes in the BOM.
You can realize this by creating the above mentioned 'order BOM' that is order-specific, order-dependent.
I'd like to ask you to please post this thread / question on the ERP-SD / or SCM-PP forum (), the experts are specialized in such subjects ( sorrowfully I've got no experience on this).

Hi All,
BOM - Is Bill of Material. It is used for listing the component used making finished/semi finished goods for Eg: If you making a pen- finished good you need 1 cap, 2 body pieces & 1 Refill. So it will be given in BOM.
Reward if useful.
