Extraction Issue

Hi,

Can some one help me with the below scenario :

A delta load from the source system is done to an ODS and subsequently the delta is passed to the cube.

Once the load is done, we compare the number of records in the ODS with the number of records in the source system.

But everyday we find a mismatch of 1 record for a particular extract. then we follow the below procedure to match the records :

*Selective delete from the ODS for the month and extract for which the mismatch is found

Selectively do a Full repair load to ODS.

Activation of ODS.

Selective delete from the cube for the month and extract for which the mismatch is found

Selectively do a Full repair loads to cubes followed by a Init with out data transfer to cube.*

When we do this procedure the record count in the BW and Source system match.

My Question is Why do we get a mismatch of 1 record for a particular extract everyday?? What can be the possible reason for this and wat is the action to be taken.

Secondly when we follow the above given procedure, how does the data match??

may be your ODS Design is wrong. check one more time ods update rules.check the keyfig properties

Yes the following selection is present in the ODS :

Production Date :

FROM TO

01/01/2007 12/31/2099

01/01/2006 12/31/2006

01/01/2005 12/31/2005

01/01/2004 12/31/2004

01/01/2003 12/31/2003

01/01/2002 12/31/2002

And we find a mismatch for the month of DEC 2007 for the extract MPALF.

So you having issue with mismatch between R/3 and ODS OR between Cube? Since you doing a init. without data transfer it usually bring a timestamp record (it's not ueeful data for reporting but then it's timestamp on your datasource) and it's usually updated in infoobject 0RECORDMODE.

Please check there...

Check whether u have any selections in the cube. How many records it is showing when u see in the RSA3??/
