hi guys,

I installed the SAP HANA express 2.0 (Server + Applications VM Only) as described under 'https://www.sap.com/developer/tutorials/hxe-ua-getting-started-vm.html'.
The installation was successul, so I could log in to Hana and do some development using Web IDE. A few days ago I got the following error while logging to Hana and since then I can't login to system.

The strange thing is that I have not changed anything in vm or network configuration.

FAILED: Could not connect to controller on https://hxehost:39030
Connection refused (Connection refused) local port 57872 to address 127.0.0.1 (localhost.localdomain), remote port 39030 to address 127.0.0.2 (hxehost.localdomain))

any idea how to fix the issue?

Kind regards
Rouzbeh

It looks to me like your XSController isn't running. I only see two java processes in the HDB info and there should be three. You'll have to check the logs for the controller as to more details as to why it isn't starting.

I found the following trace. But the SAP note mentioned here has nothing to do with the issue which I'm facing with. strange is that the hxehost has the IP 172.0.0.2. shouldn't this be the 192.168.60.128?

are there any other traces which I can take a look at?

127.0.0.2 seems pretty normal from Linux itself. That just means that the hostname is resolving via the local loopback connector.

The easiest way to view the log files is with HANA Studio (diagnosis tab of the admin view). But they are also written to the file system:

/hana/shared/<SID>/HDB<instance number>/<hostname>/trace/

as you said the issue seems to be the HDB XS Controller. all other services are runnung. Do you know in which trace file can I find more detail?

The trace files are named by process they go with. Look for the one with xscontroller in the name.

Hi, I found the following trace in "xscontroller.out". I'm facing this issue since 16.11 and this matches with the date mentioned in the log file.

Please see this thread:
https://answers.sap.com/questions/183262/locked-secure-storage-on-sap-hana-express-edition.html

You'll need to delete the secure store lock file as described in this other thread.
