Hi,

For sub contracting, is it possible to give one material to vendor and get back finished material with same material number?

Means, is it possible to have same child material number and parent material number?

Please advice.

Hi

Yes it is possible.....provided, while creating BOM....for Child Component...(your case both Header material and Child component are same)...in details you have to check the "Recursive Allowed" Check Box....

then you can send the header material to SC-Vendor and get back the same material from SC-Vendor after service performed(Like Cleaning,Measuring, Weighing etc.)

Hi,

It is possible, but you have to maintain child item as same item as parent item manually while making subcontracting PO (me21n). Normally it is done. When we have to send one material for reworking to subcontractor, and we have to receive the same material in same code. In this scenario, some time we have to pay to subcontractor or some time it is free of cost affair. Please do as per your requirement.
