Dispatcher in Yellow after SGEN

Hi All,

We had executed the transaction SGEN on ECC6.0 running on Linux with MaxDB. After SGEN we restarted the SAP instance again. After that we could not login into SAP. Instance is starting but the dispatcher is in Yellow state. Are there any tasks to be done after SGEN?. Do we need to check databases?. Could suggest suitable idea/tip to get the status back to green. Attached are the dev_w0,dev_ms and dev_disp files and message by sapcontrol get processlist.

Thanking in advance,

Regards,

Ramesh

Have you reviewed following notes?

2558404 - The buffer synchronization has not been called for N seconds
1974555 - DP: trace more warnings when buffer refresh wasn't triggered

Hi Bartosz,

Thank you for the reply. The SAP instance is running on kernel 722 Unicode. The notes refer to Kernel 721. Am not able to login into the system to do the checks mentioned in the notes. Is there a way to refresh those buffers and make the dispatcher go green?. Are there any other areas I need to look around apart from the above things mentioned in the notes?.

When you say you can't log in to SAP, does it mean you get a connection error or you see the login screen but it hangs?

Can you see any workload on the server? How many disp+work processes are present?

Hi Bartosz,

The GUI is hung up at "Connecting - Please Wait' for some time and later the disconnection popup comes up. Not seeing the login screen.

What about the workload on the server? Can you see the disp+work processes? Can you check the database - do you have space in the data and log area?
