problem in mail adapter

dear all,

i am getting a error when iam doing file to mail scenario,

and iam using smtp URL of mail exchange server.

error:failed to send mail: java.io.IOException: server not responding OK to .; 550 Error: We cannot accept executable attachments

"We cannot accept executable attachments"... So I think you try to send some .exe file or smthng like that. Try to send .dat file or simply just rename the file extension.

And if you send a .txt attachment from outlook using the same SMTP server - does it work?

can u explain me elobaratly regarding above q'n

i have given the URl like this

smtp://IPaddress(exchange server).

i have pinged that that URL from my command prompt i am getting the reply from that URl.

tell me if there is any other way to check url.

Madhav,

I think, there is no problem with connection to SMTP, cos' the 550 code is already aa reply from the SMTP server..

well, that's ok... your receiver adapter connects to SMTP server and tries to send it a message. SMTP refuses the message , because it seems to be like an executable file...

So I would check the settings of SMTP. Ask some administrator..

Or, make a test I suggested you - use your outlook to send the same file via the same SMTP server and you'll see, what happens.
