Java Add-in or unicode conversion first?

Hi all.

I have just performed a BW 3.5 (NW 6.40) to BI 7.0 (NW 7.0) NON-unicode upgrade. The next two things we want to do are unicode conversion and java add-in installation.

I am wondering which of these actions should come first; Java add-in or unicode conversion?

Any thought on this?

Regards,

Thomas

    Unicode conversion.

Since Java does only "know" Unicode I highly suggest to do that first.

Additionally, when doing the conversion, you will need to export the data, delete the database and create it again. With a Java AddIn installed, this will become pretty more complicated.
