Design Studio 1.6 bookmarks migration

I have a question about promoting Design Studio bookmarks via Promotion Management application. Application versions are BI 4.2 SP3 Patch 8 and Design Studio 1.6 for BI 4.2.

Briefly, we have done a content migration from old environment A to new environment B. A and B have the same versions of BI and Design Studio. After migrating DS 1.6 bookmarks, their metadata are incomplete on new environment B - they are missing Name, Type, User and Group in CMC > Applications > Manage Bookmarks.

I have found SAP Notes saying that bookmark migration is currently not supported between environments (available from Lumira 2.0). However, our target environment is completely fresh installed without any existing bookmarks in it - therefore it is not promotion between environments but rather a pure copy of an object.

So my questions are the following:

  1. is it possible to copy bookmarks as part of environment migration via Promotion Management between source and target environments?
  2. if yes, how should I fix missing metadata of a DS 1.6 bookmark (update matadata under Manage Properties > Bookmark Metadata Upgrade was running for 30 minutes and did nothing - and it is formally only for DS 1.5)?
  3. If none of the above is possible, how should bookmarks be replicated on new target BI Platform?

PS: BI 4.2 SP3 Patch 8 still has an issue with selecting dependencies for DS objects as described here -, although according to Note it should be already solved.

Hi Tammy,

thanks, I have already checked that. It only says, that promoting bookmark objects is not supported by Promotion Management. I have opened an OSS incident for this, once I'll get the output, I will update here as well [whatever it will be].
