TREX Slave Roles

Hello,

I am running a TREX 6.1 in a distributed cluster with 2 TREX instances that are configured for indexing --how do I go about assigning roles for these 2 instances to handle search request.

Hi John,

Just take a look at this help document which tells about the configuration settings for cases as :-

1) One Master Index and 2 slave index servers

2) 2 master Index and 2 slave index servers.

Now that I have roles defined for my slave instances I am expiereincing a strange problem as follows: 1) when both masters (1st/2nd) are brought online the slaves instances appear offline from the Portal TREX monitor and search does not work from portal, 2) When I shut down the 1st Master everything works fine! (strange)

what could cause such behavior?
