Table Switch Deletion Procedure Issue

Hello Experts,

I am using SAP PI 7.10 system and in production system we have activated the Table Switch deletion process.

After activating and manually running the report RSXMB_TABLE_SWITCH, Container 2 becomes active in Persistence Layer and messages started to copy from container 1 to container 2, after sometime it was observed that PI server ABAP stack started to degrade performance and messages were getting failed due to resources/memory issue and hence we stopped all the running BG jobs and processes.

this might have terminated the BG job/process which is copying the data from Container 1 (SXMSPMAST) to container 2 (SXMSPMAST2).

so now status in Persistence layer analysis is "Content of container 1 is being copied to container 2" and actually no messages are being copied in container 2 as we terminated BG jobs.

At the same time i am not able to delete the archived/deleted messages from SXMXPMAST through the given reports and also i am not able to switch back to container 1.

please suggest me way how to delete the unwanted messages from container 1 and activating the container 1 back (want to deactivate the Table switch mechanism).

Hi Ram,

Please check the following notes:

1788321- PI: Switch job is canceled due to lack of disc space
(It is for clearing already expired messages psychically to release the space)

2106462- Checking the switch procedure

(switch the active container)

If your DB is oracle, please note that you need do the reorganization periodically to free the disk space. For this part, please check with DBA.
