We use Characteristics Dependent Planning, where the Requirement elements peg to Receipt elements based on certain pre-defined characteristics in APO. From the past few weeks, a lot of our batches (after being GR'd in ECC) CIF to APO without many of the characteristics. With missing CDP characteristics, such batches become "wild cards" & start pegging to incorrect demand, until someone corrects the batches manually via MSC2N or MSC5N. It is a painful & time intensive process.
We tried archiving batches, assuming the volume of batches being processed during CIF (our batches being at Material level) will make a difference, but that isn't helping. Strangely, OM17 doesn't call out such batches on the inconsistency report.
Has anyone encountered any such situation? What other things could be done to tide over this issue?
