UWL Leave Request Approval and Page Not Found

Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of implementing leave request with EP 70 ECC 6.0 and I am trying to implement the approval portion in the UWL. The workflow is appearing correctly in the UWL; however, when I click on the request in the UWL, I get a pop up with an error message that has "Page Not Found or Not Available." Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have read some of the other messages and transaction SWFVISU has been mentioned, but I am not sure how to set this up or if this would even resolve my problem.

Also, one of the reasons I have decided to go the UWL route is because the Leave Request Approval Web Dynpro has too many steps. Our users will not like having to click Approve, then Review, then Approve Request. If set up correctly, would the UWL have this many steps? I would imagine so if it is calling the same Web Dynpro, but I thought I would ask. Ideally I would like to have our Approvers select the Leave then choose approve and that be all they do.

Dear Scott,

I am having this problem as well.

I did 2 things to fix this problem.

Firstly, please go to SWFVISU and check the visualization parameter for the below task.

Make sure it is package value is sap.com/ess~lea. It is not com.sap. Then re-register your UWL and it should be workin.

Let me know if it still does not and you may need to check your WAS setting.

We are getting the error 'Page not found or not available' whenever we click on a link that opens in a new window. Could you please let me know what WAS settings we need to change and how?

Hi Priya

Check your SAP_Webdynpro_XSS system alias, where you would have given "Web AS Host name = fully qualified host name of R3 system:port number" there you might have given wrong port number ..for instance 8000 instead of your WAS port,in my case it is 50000..try this and let me know whether it worked.

There are few very basic checks you need to perform

1. check the WAS settings in your system and check if you are using a url then if that is getting pinged from the client where you get this error.

please reply with this info because page not found is you internal network issue.

hi to all

we r also facing the same problem , when we click on the approval task in UWL new popup window is opening with the message page cannot be displayed .

i have checked all the entries in the SWFVISU

Like

Re-register is also done .

Hi,

Unfortunately it is the same leave request approval application that will open, when you click a leave request approval item in UWL. You still have the same steps. And a bit annoying thing is that actually you have even more steps when using UWL: First you click the item in UWL, and then you need to select the same item (=leave request) from the list in the approval application, and after that you can start the approval process.

What comes to your other problem, you should make sure that the approval task is configured in SWFVISU properly (is the approval task there currently at all?). Then you need to register the item types in Portal (in Workflow/UWL configuration).
