Is AS Java needed to integrate SAP ERP and Hybris C4C

Hi, I started integrating SAP ERP and Hybris C4C. I am following a document for integration and the URL is given below.

While creating Communication system it is asking to provide Business system ID (Page 18) which is defined in the System Landscape Directory (SLD). But my SAP ERP system is not having SLD configured. I saw some documents on the net saying that, to configure SLD we need AS Java. On My machine SAP ERP is installed with AS ABAP only.

My question is is it possible to create communication system without Business system ID.

Is AS Java needed for this integration?

Another question is, is it possible to integrate SAP ERP with Hybris C4C with only AS ABAP installed.
