Enter Business area

Dear All,

I have ascenario where i am triggring the project while creating the quotation and project is created at the background.These are working for quality and developement.However in production the system ask for business area and hence cant be saved when i want to add a line item apart from the ones

loaded as master data in the quotation.When I add a line item

the system is trying to create a wbs and network at the background and finally says that busineess area not entered.

I am actually entering the business area also at both WBS and network levels.

Can some one throw light what could be the problem for this error?

Hi,

Please check whether business area is defaulted in your project profile.

Menupath: - SPRO->Logistics->Project System->Structures->Operative structures->Work breakdown structure->Create project profile - Transaction code -OPSA

Under tab "organization" ,if business area is not defaulted, please do so.

If solved, pl close the posting, else please give feed back.

Thankyou very much for your valuable reply.I am maintaining blank for plant and business area in this screen as i have 10 different business area and 10 plants in my set up.

please suggest me your valuable suggestions to solve this issue.

Hi,

If there are multiple Business area / Plant in your process, then the same need to be entered manually as the project profile is generic for all types of project.

Create one substitution rule for root WBSE, Once Business area is assigned to Root WBSE, others WBSE / network will inherit the assigned business area.

Thankyou very much for your valuable reply.What i am doing is

I am maintaining the standard WBSE and stanadard network so that the system is copying the operational WBSE and networks when triggred from sd quotation.Here in the operational wbs and network i will key in the respective plant and business area and it is working fine quality as well.But i have an issue in production pertaining to business area when i try to add a line item in the already created quotation.

please add your valuable inputs to tackle this issue.

I am not sure but i believe that business area has to be entered in SD order.Means SD order has to be accout assigne to business area since we may not accout assign it to any particular wbs element in assembly process.I came accross such error earlier where I have followed above explained solution.Pl check your cutomsization part wrt to business area and its relevant assignment.Revert back in case of any disagreement.

I am actually account assigning the sales order with the WBS

element.It is working fine in quality server however only in production i have these issues.Please provide your valuable suggestions to overcome this problem.
