java class com.mysql.jdbc.driver not found while accessing Design Studio

Hello All,

I have a BI4.2 SP04 env with DS 1.6 SP5 Patch3.

I am faced with a weird issue where I am able to connect to MySQL server with IDT and refresh data in WEBI as well. However, when I try to add this universe as a datasource in Design Studio, I receive the error stating java class com.mysql.jdbc.driver not found.

My issue is similar to the issue mentioned in the post -

Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Thanks & regards,

Ajay

Hi Ajay - maybe this SAP Note may help? See https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/1948311

      Hello Tammy,

I have been through this note earlier as well. I have configured only one single APS as a master APS with all Services. Rest all the settings are in place.

I understand that the thread https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3867500 is related to the same issue and you had tried to help Mike then. It was Sybase then and in my case its MySQL now.

I have checked and rechecked all the config settings. Had it been a driver issue, the IDT and WEBI shouldn't have been able to connect to MySQL server at all.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

      Thanks & regards,

      Ajay
