I have a Crystal Report that when I open it needs a lot of manipulation (so everything is on the same line per client). I've cleaned it up but now my IT department is telling me I can't access the database directly and need to export the report from the program as a Crystal Report, open it in Crystal and then clean it up. Is there a way to set up an auto-format (or something similar) instead of manipulating the data each time I need the report?
Hi Elizabeth,
Could you please elaborate on the kind of manipulations you do?
You need access to the database to be able to 'refresh' data. You should ask the IT dept to set up a 'Dev' database or something similar that you could access to build and format reports.
