I want to create a prompt at report level and link it to the variable created . So that according to the report type selected (yearly , monthly , quarterly) the report opens.

if i understood correctly based on the prompt value selection like Yearly you want o display yearly data table? if yes then follow these steps.

Capture the prompt text with user response function.

Show/Hide=useresponse("prompt text")

Right click on the Table->Format table->tick on "Hide when following formula is true"

and place the formula. [Show/Hide]<>"Yearly"

similarly for other tables
