RDT Error: Check either access rights or for a sharing violation (For entire IFRS and OFRS)

Repair failed in RDT.
After running RDT with repair option only two inconsistencies were repaired while many others remained unrepaired.

The error in the log file was that the file does exist in input or output frs but no corresponding info object.
In the action, it was showing that RDT is not able to repair check access rights or sharing violation for the folders in FRS.
"<Inconsistency>
<Warning>Failed to remove C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Filestore_backup_20NOV17\Input\a_000 in a file system operation.</Warning>
<Action>Please check either access rights or for a sharing violation."

The same error was occurring for other folders such as a-001 to a-255 including temp folder in input frs and output frs.

What do you think could be the reason?

Hi Hussain,

Can you let us know the file name for which this error message is thrown?
This will help is in identifying what may be the issue.
Did you navigate to the filestore location to check if the file itself is present over there? If yes, then we need to know the exact file name.

Why I am asking you this is because there may be other files like for platform search etc, apart from your report(webi/crystal) and instances.

Refer this KBA while performing any RDT activities:

1267338 - How to use Repository Diagnostic Tool (reposcan)

Thanks,

Dear megh.vora , as mentioned in question description, the error is not specific to a file or an object. The error is for entire IFRS and OFRS folders.
For example: For IFRS: The error starts from folder a-000 upto a-255 including temp folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Filestore_backup_20NOV17\Input\a_000 upto

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Filestore_backup_20NOV17\Input\a_255

similarly, the same error comes up for output FRS, from a-000 upto a-255 including temp.

maybe its because of the "Filestore_backup_20NOV17" in the path ?
Because I doubt that is the original location.
Or something else was actively accessing them - antivirus or other monitoring tool.

It is not the location for live FRS rather we are running rdt against backedup CMS database and FRS.

"Filestore_backup_20NOV17" is the backup of FRS, it includes both Input FRS and Output FRS.
Disabled antivirus but still the error occurs.

So, the CMS still points to normal, life FRS, but reposcan scans the backup FRS ?
that would explain the errors then.

Please check the account you are using to run RDT, has access to IFRS edit rights. It may be just read rights based on the error.
