SAP BW HANA optimized Cube - Query

Hi Experts,

I have recently migrated system to BW on HANA 7.5. We have not performed HANA optimization of cube. Queries have already showed 70% improvement over runtime compared to previous version (7.3).

If we perform HANA optimization of standard cubes, should we expect additional improvemnt in BEX QUERY run time? and Why.

I wanted to know if BW creates a specialized process ( additionally optimize calculation scenario) after HANA optimization of cube.

I believe standard cube(non HANA Optimized) and multicube already have Calculation Scenarios on HANA. Let me know if my understanding is incorrect. Yes I understand that DIMs are removed but since DIMs are numeric index I was expecting to work faster anyways. So back to the question how HANA optimized cube has better query run time over standard cube ( looking for points other than DIM removal ).

Yes, by optimizing the cubes, you simplify their data models (less tables) thus making them more performant for read access (BEX query) and write access (data load).

Hard to guess the gain you can expect in your case but anyway, you will have to optimize them at a time.
