In BPA, One of the process definition (for BW), when it fails and goes to error state, we receive an Operator message. If that process chain is fixed and re-run manually in SAP BW system, the status is getting updated to the BPA every minute (multiple runs getting piled up every minute), until it is completed. The SAP_BW_ProcessChain goes to completed state, after the completion of process chain in SAP BW system. But there are many runs (in running state) even after the completion of the process chain.”

We reply to the Operator Message by setting it to Complete. But still the runs(which pile up every minute -SAP_BW_ProcessChain ) are in Running state only. Only the last run(SAP_BW_ProcessChain) will be in completed state.

Is there any setting to change the same and make sure there will be only one SAP_BW_ProcessChain which gets update every minute and reach the final state to complete when the process chain is completed in SAP BW system?

Also will this Running state (SAP_BW_ProcessChain), occupies the Execution Size limit of the Queue it is using? “ (Note: We set the Execution Size limit for the Queue). We are worried if this gets occupied and the next batches may not have free limit to start.
