Can we maintain MM condition records for a material type

Dear Experts,

I'm implementing a INCO Terms based freight condition to recognize the planned freight costs in the PO. I did all the configurations by creating an access sequence to maintain condition records INCO Terms based and assigned it to the condition type. All are working fine. However, I'm facing an issue in maintaining condition records for the freight condition in MEK1 as we have to maintain the same by material number. We have over 8000 materials and have to maintain condition records by 6 INCO terms. (have to enter 8000*6 entries in MEK1). So instead of doing this, is there anything I can do differently to maintain condition records for a material type instead of individual materials ?

What has a freight much to do with a material type?

If I take my FERT for example then I would have bulk materials which are shipped with tank trucks, material in drums as well as glass panels which would result in quite different freight rates

Isn't it usually the weight, the loading meter, the distance that define a freight.

I am bit unclear about your overall scenario. if you think you need to do it by material then I ask myself what you really save with MEK1 instead of doing it directly in the info record.

Already considered to use the transportation module?

Hi Jurgen,

Complete scenario is this. For the raw materials that we purchase, we need to incorporate the freight charges to material valuation. However, this freight charge need to be paid to a separate freight vendor. freight charges are pre-determined based on INCO Terms (E.g: EXW - 1.1 USD per Kg, CIF - 1.5 USD per Kg etc...). So this we achieved by defining freight condition. Now the issue is, we have to maintain condition records for this condition type each material wise. Since there are so many materials I wonder is there any other way I can maintain conditions easily ?
