Assignment of PLant to Sales Org question

We assign PLant to Sales Org in Enterprise Structure in SPRO

WHere does this affect?

Does it stop the material in Material Master Record from creating the Sales/Plant combination? If not, where to control this combination?

Or it affects in the Sales Order from using this combination? If not, where to control this combination?

hello, friend.

you are right. when you create a material, you can do this in a Sales organization/distribution channel to plant combination only if you first assign the plant to the Sales Organization/distribution channel in IMG > Enterprise structure.

you do this to place restrictions and control on the distribution of your materials.

this also affects your material's valuation.

Dear Experts,

in continuation to the question, i have a similar one.

What i think:

one sales org can have more than one distribution channel. One distribution channel can have more than one plant.

can the same plant be assigned to a different sales organization?

s001(sales org)->dc01(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)

s001(sales org)->dc02(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant).....is possible

s001(sales org)->dc01(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)

s001(sales org)->dc02(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)

s002(sales org)->dc03(distribution chnnl)->p001(plant)....is this possible..in the sense ..can the same plant exist in more than one sales org...

hi,

let me first correct this " We assign PLant to Sales Org in Enterprise Structure in SPRO ".

we assign a sales org + DC combination to plant. Like this we can many combinations of sales org and Dis. channels being assigned to this plant.

for example say we have two distribution channels WH ( wholesale) and EX ( export ) and two plants PL01 and PL02.

1) Now if i want the materials of PL01 to be sold both via WH and EX then we make the assignment as

S000 ( sales org ) + WH --- PL01

S000 ( sales org ) + EX --- PL01

2) Now if i want the materials of PL02 to be sold only via EX then we make the assignment as

S000 ( sales org ) + EX --- PL02.

In this case the products of PL02 cannot be sold via wholesale.

This assignment helps us restrict how the products of different plants are to be distributed.
