How to connect to git repo using HANA webide

I develop with UI5 and most of the time I write my code using mock data(json files) instead of connecting to the database. Doing this allows me to develop locally and be able to connect to my git repo so I can track my changes. I write my code in a way that if there is no connection to HANADB it will use mock data, if there is connection use the actual data. Once my changes are done I move my code over to HANA studio so I can finalize my changes using real data. This can be a problem as it requires extra code to make it work on both cases. For HANA I'm using eclipse and hana webide. I avoid using eclipse as it can be pretty slow and only use hana webide. Is there a way to connect the webide to my git repo?

As you are talking that you are copying your code to HANA Studio to finalize it, I assume that you are using the Web-based Development workbench of HANA for XS Classic development instead of the SAP Web IDE for XS Advanced.

The web-based development workbench supports just a Github integration. So if your git repo is available on Github you can use it, if not than you loose ;-)

Details on the integration can be found for instance in the SAP HANA Academy Video Web-based Dev Workbench: Editor - GitHub Integration [SPS 10].

My version is V1.97.0 (with XS classic). Can't provide screenshot as it is for work. Compares to the one shown in the link you provided, mine doesn't have the blue look. It's all white-ish gray-ish looking. The gear icon only shows a few options but nothing related to git
