Error: System cannot find source storage bin

Hello,

I need your help.

We create a new Storage Type called DEV. We create a TR.

When use the LB10 with the following data:

Warehouse number 776

Dest. storage type 910

The TR was listed and when try to convert the TR into TO with the option "TO in Background"

I got the error: System cannot find source storage bin

How I can fix this king of error?

Yes, I have maintained these 3 section.

Hi,

the main cause for this error are as follows

1. No inventory in bins

2. Or...the material is in a storage type that is not in th removal strategy search sequence. For example: looking in MM0 WM View, I see that the removal strategy is XXX. Then looking i the IMG for XXX search stratgey I see that the storage types i searches through are 123, 456, 678. When I looked at th inventory location I find it is in storage type 777 and sinc that is not a storage type in my removal search strategy...th system errors out with the error you mention below.

3. Same thing in 2 can also apply for if you have setup specifi movement types for removal search stratgies and your materia and movement type search strategy is not seeing the material i the storage type the material is in.

Please also check the stock category and the WM views in the material master record (storage type indicator)

The option 2 was ok... I just put my new Storage type DEV in the field Stock removal.

Now Im getting this error:

Data for storage type search is not defined (A DEV )

Hi,

Charlie is likely to be right I think.

You mentioned that your storage type was newly created -maybe you forgot to involve this storage type into the search strategy...

In the short run:

You can process your TR in foreground and in this case you can give the source (storage type + bin) manually > TO will be created.

In the long run:

You have to carry out the setting written in the previous message to avoid this kind of problem in the future.

Did yoy define the storage type search, storage sction serach adn bin type search for new storage type.

You need do define all this to have bin determined by the system.
