Fixed Assets - Diminishing Balance

Is this a fallacy or does Fixed assets actually work in 2007????

I have added an asset and linked it to diminishing balance, this may as well be greek because SAP will not calculate a damn thing for depreciation.

If I click from the Depreciation tab back to the General tab on the asset all the workings i.e. Purchase price etc dissapear. I have to clost the screen and reopen, very dissapointing....

Is this yet another SAP disaster zone???

Solved the problem.

For diminishing balance items you need to stipulate a factor and then another Straight Line depreciation method (why??? ask SAP). The system will calculate the Diminishing Vlaue provided it is less than the Factor x Straight Line Method. I setup a Staright Line Method and a Factor of 100 thus the Diminishing would always be less and voila the **** works.
