SAP BO Lumira Designer (Design Studio) Geo Map: 10000 Data cell limitation

Hi All,

We are observing 10,000 data cells limitation for GeoMap component in Lumira Designer 2.0 while creating a dashboard. SAP note# 2400316 mentions that we can only assign a data source with less than 10,000 data cells to a chart/GeoMap component due to SDK safety belt. On SCN posts we found that there is a parameter provided which can be set to bypass this limitation for Custom developed SDK components. We have tried to check this limitation in the free SCN Lumira Designer 2.0 SDK Map Components and they appear to have the 10,000 data cells limitation.

1) Is it possible to bypass 10,000 data cells limitation in default Geo map component? Or developing a custom map component is the only way to bypass this limitation? If it’s only Custom component then any input here will help us.

2) There are multiple vendors in market like Visual BI, Galigeo, Archius offering Custom Geo map solutions for Lumira Designer. Do these maps also have the 10,000 data cell limitation, any input on this will be much appreciated, we are also trying to reach out to these vendors.

Hi Anil

Does you get any news about the 10'000 limitation for GeoMap? I just runing in to the same problem in a project we just started now with Lumira Designer 2.2. But we also have the problem that the map get really, really slow if we using more then > 2000 data points.

Maybe you or other Lumira Designer has the same problem or know about to correct it. Very happy to hear from you.
