Creating Prodn.order without BOM

Hi PP gurus

Can anybody tell me can we create a production order with routing but without BOM?iS IT POSSIBLE

Hi Laxmikant

Please note the steps

Create a BOM Application in OS30

Create a new BOM ID in OS31 with BOM Usage as Production

Assign this BOM ID in BOM Application

Ensure that ID is responsible for Production planning alone.

Then in that ID maintain a BOM alone without any items.

Assign this BOM Application in Order type dependent parameters in OPL8

Now u can create a production order w/o BOM

Hi,

If u don't want to use BOM that means U don't have any BOM components.

So don't give any component in cs01

and save it.

Ex. : When u producing any gas from air that means u don't have any component so we can use this type of BOM.

I think this will help u.

Hi Laxmikanth,

It is possible to create a production order for a material with out a BOM. You can enter the components in the order itself if you want.

Hi Lakshmikanth,

Yes..U can create a production order with routing & without a BOM..But system will log a error entry for master data reading..Ans also while creating the order system gives u a option for exploring a different materials BOM...

Anyhow u can ignore these messages & still create a production order.

It is possible. User transaction CO07- create production order without material.
