Posting release configuration - parked documents subject to approval

Hi workflow experts,

I am trying to check the configuration to show that all manual journal entries greater than a certain amount are automatically parked in SAP and require approval prior to being processed. I have looked into Event Linkage, Workflow Variant and Posting Release. The last two are not very clear.

What does it mean if there is no workflow variant assigned to the in-scope company codes? And where do I find the monetary value that requires that release is appropriate?
