BOM exploding problem

Hi All,

When I am trying to process a sales order with one material witch is a BOM material It could not explode the BOM. I am getting the error as Structure explosion for item 000020 is not possible.

I checked the item category group for the material i.e ERLA and other materials also.while creating the BOM selected usage 5,itc L.Please let me know if I am missing some thing.

assuming that you are getting item category TAQ for the main item

TAQ structure scope should be A or B and application SD01

apart from this ensure that the item category assignments are accurate i.e. the item category determination with the higher level item category should be present.

Also note that the BOM will not explode until plant has been assigned at the item level

Header material should be LUMF and component should be ERLA.

Please maintain the header material item cat. group as ERLA and other sub material item cat. grp as NORM. Then u can get the BOM exploded.

Hi akhi,

Now please check the header material item category settings (TAQ), there structure scope field should be A or B.

Please check the item category for the line items in the sales order.

For header items:

OR + ERLA = TAQ

For sub items:

OR + NORM + TAQ = TAE

if it is there it must work, IF it is not so, please make an assignment in VOV4 like above.

Also check u have created BOM with application 5 (SD).

I am sure u will get it. Any further queries, please post.

hello, friend.

please do VOV7 and check your BOM item category. under Bill of Materials/Configuration, check the structure scope.

also check the BOM settings in the plant.
