Delete batch characteristic value from MM02

Dear experts,

I have created a material with batch classification. One of the characteristics is LI Group with values S and T . There are batches created with these characteristic values. Now the customer requested to remove S value from LI Group. I cannot remove the S value from MM02 as there are still batches with S value and the batch qty is not 0. Unless I remove the S value from all the batches through MSC2N, then only I can remove the S value from MM02. However, S value cannot be removed from MSC2N for tracibility purpose.

Are there any other ways to achieve this?
