Multiple language in material short text

Hi Experts,

I need to upload material short text in two languages EN and FR.

I went to material master>Additional data tab> Description tab

and maintained two description in two languages.

But in PO material text is coming in EN (english) only. How can user see the material text in his desired language like FR (French)?

Can u please suggest?

Thanks for your reply. My problem is not to print PO in FR language or uploading material description in FR language. I can do this.

My problem is as follows-

a. A material is already uploaded with material description in two languages- English(EN) and French (FR) in additional data tab of material master.

b. same material is being used by french speaking and english speaking users. While doing transaction eg creating PO french user should see the material description in french and englisg user should see the description in English.

But in the system by default , material description is coming only in english in PO. How french users can see material description in their own language?

Hope the issue is now clear. Can anybody kindly suggest?

The PO displays the material description in the logon language

until the user enters the vendor, then the description changes to the language entered as communication language in the vendor master.

Try it. Execute ME21N. Enter a material number and hit enter.

Then enter a vendor with a different language than your logon language and hit enter.

Hi Santosh,

Try login in local language & check. Also check entries that are maintained in MAKTX table.

If multi language entries are maintained while uploading material master, 2 entries can be seen in this table.

If you login in local language, hope this problem can be solved.

pl. develope one TEXT UPLOAD program like XXXXX_UPD.

This abap program can upload the text in differenet langauages.

the text in the PO is pulled from material master based on the communication language entered in the vendor master.
