Doubt about Communication structure in R/3

I am a year old in BW, When I did my first training, my lecturer told me there is communication structure that is used to fill extract structures in R/3 for LO cockpit. But I did a delta course recently and the new lecturer of the new school told me there is no communication structure in R/3

I am confused because I also read this on this forum

Can some please enlighten me so I don't have a wrong idea and disgrace myself in an interview on basic things

See what I read on this forum too

"The logistics extractors from Logistic Cockpit (LBWE) was designed to replace the LIS info structures (Snnn). When you create, change or delete documents in the applications, the resulting data is staged online in LIS communication structures. In addition, data is transferred from the LIS communication structure, using extract structures, into a central delta management area (using different delta method). So, delta management acts as a buffer for data that can be requested from the BW via an infopackage with the update mode "delta upload".

In R/3 LIS, there is something called communication structure

    For tables,

VBAK you can see communication structure as MCVBAK

This structures will update the information structures. The information structure will be having names S100 to S999. In LIS, this information structure are getting extracted to BW

When you go to LBWE and click on maintain extract strucute..the right side window(dialog box) is the Communication can pick up all required fields from Communication structure to the extract structure of your data source.

    Hope it helps

      Thank you very much

So there is communication structure in R/3 and also communication structure in BW.

Hence if I am asked in an interview I can confidently say there is one in R/3.

is it still part of ECC6.0?

      Thank you
