why "keep filter value " option is not present in the workbook?

Hi,

when i want to restrict the query results, i could not see the option keep filter value for the 0CALYEAR char in the worksheet of the workbook.

After refreshing the query when i try to restrict the results by right clicking on the 0CALYEAR char it only says refresh the query and no option for flitering.

Why is it so?

Raj

Which variable are you using for the 0CALYEAR???

Goto the variable change wizard, there you can see a checkbox Can be Changed During navigation.

Tick that checkbox.

Thanks for the answer Rakesh.

i am creating new wrokbook for the certain workbooks which will be created for every year at the begining ( the filtering has been for the characteristic 0CALYEAR)

What i gererally do is just save the workbook as new workbook and made the restriction for the results by filtering it to the year needed. it has nothing to do with the query definition.

Now, i had a workbook whose queries definitions are having year filter. Since these queries are present in so many workbooks, i cannot change the definition of the query. and since it is hardcoded in the query defintion , i nor can change the query results in the worksheets.

Can you suggest me what should id o?

Raj

Hi Raj ,

I am not very sure whether I understood your requirement but if you want to select a filter in your workbook after executing it then to my knowledge you need not have a variable to the characteristic or you should have a variable with the setting Can be Changed During Navigation.

These changes that you make in your query will only reflect in your workbook.
