External Number for Work Order

I have work order data available in the form of standard tables dumps.

I need a way to load work orders externally (maintaining external numbers).

I do not want SAP to assign new numbers to loaded work orders, but maintain existing one's.

Any suggestions on this ?

Dear,

U can do one thing dat u create new order type and assign the no. range as external no.you cant do with ur existing order type if already maintain the internal no range. so go for new order type give such name to dat order type dat u can relate to ur existing order type

Plz call SAP Support near by ur location they will definately help u.they provide u note or patch for dat.

As there is no overlap among the order-numbers that I intend to load and my existing orders, I can simply turn the number range for work-orders to external.

Once I do this, while I run IW31, the system will prompt me to enter an order number externally.
