Delta process in LO Cockpit

Dear All,

I am trying to understand the Delta process for LO Cockpit. We have a problem and hope we can find a solution here.

We have fill up the setup tables for 2LIS_04_P_MATNR on 01/20/2008. But when the data was loaded the Initialization was run with the Data selection from 01/01/2006 - 12/31/2007(by mistake). I cannot run the delta update now since I cannot change the data selection in Infopackage as the init was done with data selection. Now we are trying to getAny the data from 01/01/2008 until now.

The data from 01/01/2008 - 01/20/2008 is in the setup tables and the data from 01/21/2008 is in the delta queues. How can I capture the data into BW without any data loss.

Any help on this would be highly appreciated and rewarded.

Best regards,

KK

Create an infopackage as a "full" load and flag it as a repair. Run the "full" load and it will bring in the data from the setup tables. You can then run the delta, and everything should be okay.

Worst case, you can refill the setup tables and run the initialization again with all the data to date.

Hope this helps.

BTW, if you run another init to capture through 1/20, you will lose the data in the delta queue for 1/21.

Hi Geo,

Thanks!! I have done the same. I have run the full update with repair. But still I cant get the delta because I cannot change the data selection. My Data selection for Delta Infopackage still shows the dates 01/01/2006 - 12/31/2007.

I could do a refill of setup tables and do a re-init. But the setup tables took about 9 hrs and the data load took about 18 hrs. Thats the reason I am looking for any other options.

You do not need a date selection for the delta. The delta extract will get the data from the delta queue, not the setup tables. Try creating a new delta infopackage without any date selection.

Hi Geo,

I am not able to create a delta infopackage without a data selection. Since I have done the intialization with a data selection, any new or delta infopackages I create/change has the data selection already filled up and I cannot change it.

Thanks,

KK

Hmm... that is an issue. You did not need to put any data selection criteria in your initial load. However, I think we can still salvage what you have. You will have to perform a reinitialization, but you can still keep the data you have in your infoproviders.

In the initialization infopackage, delete the Initialization Options for Source System. This will delete your delta queue. Delete and refill your setup tables from 1/21 to date. Then run the initialization infopackage with no data selection criteria. This will pick up the all the data in your setup tables (only 1/21 to date), and setup your delta queue again.

Does this help?

Hi KK,

If you are sure that the data is available in the setup table. Run an another init with date selection 01/01/2008 - 01/20/2008.

After the successful completion of Init, the next delta will fetch all the data based on the two inits. So you wont loose any data.

Thanks Srini for your reply. But if I have to do another init with date selection 01/01/2008 - 01/20/2008 I will have to delete the delta queue. Would'nt I miss those delta records then?
