Hi there. The book "Practical SAP US Payroll" by Satish Badgi (available through SAP Press) might help you. Section 4.5 is about writing and running PCRs.

Just to clarify, are you referring to personnel calculation rules (also called payroll calculation rules) or to personnel change requests? I have seen PCR used to refer to both items. The book that I mentioned helps with personnel calculation rules.

Sorry, we just have a hard copy here where I work. But if you do any work in payroll on a regular basis, I would recommend spending the $70 or so to get a copy of the book. It also has a lot of good information about wage types, schemas, benefits integration, and processing classes.

What version are you working with? Just wanted to possible help before you get going too far down the PCR path. If you are not aware, PCRs are being replaced with HCM Processes and Forms (straight from SAP's own documentation in ECC6.0!). So you might want to start looking at HCM P&F instead if your PCR needs are not for current project work.

Read the STD pcrs to understand the way PCRs are constructed.

for eg you can select a pcr from your payroll schema and read that.

Go to PE02, select the PCR say X010 (first read the documentation of the PCR)

Then go to source text and display

for ESG for pcr is * and the wage type is **** the following calculation occurs

D VWTCL 01

ERROR

0 ADDWT *

Place the cursor above the operations VWTCL and press f1

same way read each and every operations, functions and pcrs
