Update rules for charecteristics

HI,

I had a requirement where i need to create a Charecterisctic as data target and include it in Multi provider along with info cube.

I had created the relevent object and created info source with flexible update and also included the info object in an info area

But when i try to create the update rules by right clicking on the Charecteristic(as an data target) in info provider of modelling, I dont see any update rules screen displayed.

And i could see the update rules screen for Info cube and ODS but not for Charecteristic as data target.

Can u please guide me why this update rules screen is invisible.

Hi,

Do u c Text, hierarchy r attribute under the info object. If u right click on the text r attribute u will be able to c the update rules.

If u dont c the text r attributes then edit the info object (char) and c if u have checked the text(check box).

Hi

Make sure the settings of masterdata tab of your characteristics are selected to

1.Infosource with direct update

2.character is data provider.
