Classification View in MMR

Hi

What is the use of the classification view of MMR?

Under what scenarios do we use it?

What settings have to be done in SPRO with respect to this view?

Regards

Syed

classification will help u to bifurcate the same material with respect to its attributes/characteristics.

ex: if u have a material code of pen

u can have the classification extended to

    1. size- thickness

    2. colour

    3. width

    4. length

u need to define the characteristics in CT04.

    check the class:001,300

    Hi

With the use of classification you are mentioning your material with more precisely.

Suppose you are the manufacturer of automobile then depending upon your automobile characteristics(Variants) like colour, model etc you can mention more precisely.Other wise you will have to maintain lots of MMR for these variants.

For this you just need to create class in CL02 and characteristics in CT04 and attached the same to class..

Just add this class in your classification view of MMR.

    Hi,

Classification is used to classify the materials. The Classification is used to for Variant Configuration with Configurable material.

    For this we define :

1.Characteristics.2.Class.3.Configuration profile where the class is assigned to material master in Classification. from where we can have access to the characteristics of the material.

Ex : You want to buy a PC with Keyboard,Mouse,Monitor,CPU etc..

say u want Monitor of 15" or 17" or you want CPU of 60GB, 180GB etc....

the 15' n 17" 180GB,60GB are defined as characteristics and assigned to class. This class is assigned to material master in Classification .This helps to configure material as per customer requirement..

I hope you got the concept....

    Regards,

    Smitha.
