hello experts,
we have a very log disk space in our /db2 . now we need to free some space.
how can we delete the archive log files.
wht is the path of the archive log files.
thnx
Hi,
first you need to check where your log files went to. Which database version do you use ? Have you configured LOGARCHMETH1 ?
On V8.2 an higher using the DB2's log file management the safest way to get rid of log files in a disk location is:
- perform a backup
. use prune history <a current timestamp> and delete (without the force option)
This will delete all log files up to the log files that are required to do a rollforward on top of the latest backup you have taken.
Best regards,
Jens
