Configurable material creation

Please guide me the steps to create configurable material. i tried with Mat type, configurable mat, then i struck with configuration tab, it is forcing me to enter class number, when i enter, it gives error message. please mention detailed steps to create configrable mat and how to use this config mat in variant configuration? thanks in advance.

Hi,

you have to define the material as configuarable material with mat. type as -- KMAT then in basic data 2 you have to flag the "material is configuarable" indicator.

then with this configuarable material mention the valuation class in accounting view .

after this you save the material and define class in CL02 where put the class name and class type as 300

then with that it will take you to material master record classification view there you mention the class.

i could not get accounting view in the material master tabs. config material indicator is automatically appearing in basic data 2 tab, then it is asking to enter class which i defined earlier with cl02, then it is giving message, class 300 is not defined for so and so class type. please revert.

Hi,

If u want to create configuarable material

first u have to decide material type.

If u want create with FERT then in basic data-1 u have to give gen.item category "0002"

in basic data-2 u have to tick on material is configuarable and in accounting view give valuation class.

after that u have to create class with CL01 with class type 300 and assign it in material master classification view.

If u want to create conf. material by mat.type KMAT

then u have to do

assign class in classification view (class type 300)

and give its valuation class in costing view only

Nilesh, i could not see gen item category field in basic data1 tab? where is it? if u create from fert mat type, wht will be the mat type? is it fert? or kmat? let us say we have made configurable mat and then how to use this mat in variant config. pl help.
