Changing the release strategy

Hi friends ,

I am having the release strategy like this

i.e release code Range

R1 0- 50000INR

R2 50000-100000INR and so on. When we are having the currency conversion rate of 1 USD = 50 INR

Now we are going to change the conversion rate of 1 USD =45 INR. So we are planning to change the release strategy also accordingly. That is for release code R1 the limit will be 0-45,000 INR and for R2 will be 45,000-90,000INR. Can any body tell me the impact of this new release strategy in general? And

What will happen to the PR, PO that were created with old release strategy (not yet released) and released after new release strategy? Which release strategy will be taken either old or new?

For these changes, is it enough if we change the value in the Release strategy classification tab/ or we have to do the changes in any other places also?

Hi

When u are changing any value in release strategy i.e characharistic same will be applicable for new PR/PO which are created after change in release strategy.

If u are making any changes in already released PO.Release strategy will be retriggered as per changes and changiability u have maintained ( If changiability is 1 - No new release strategy will be retriggered )

For these changes, is it enough if we change the value in the Release strategy classification tab/ or we have to do the changes in any other places also?

It's enough to change value of charactaristics in classification only

thanks for your reply. my question is , i have created say 100 PO 1 week before and not yet released. Today i have changed the Release strategy. then tomorrow if i am releeasing the Po which were created 1 week before then for those Po which Release strategy will be taken? either new or old. other than this, there will be any other impact or not?

Hi

Though u have not released that PO it would have old release strategy.

If u make any changes in those po then only new strategy will be picked up otherwise not.

We have to do the changes throgh SPRO or cl20n and ct04?

Hi

First do the changes in CT04 ( I.e select required charactaristic values ) then for every release strategy u need to Do changes in CL20N

hi,

u cant have 0-50000 and 50000-100000, use either >50000 or 50000.01 to 1000000......

comeing to ur point, there is no problem if u change the same.

the thing is this will applicable for all the new PO's and amended PO's from the current day.

u can directly change the value in CL20n, or CL24n, ct04,no need to go to SPRO-release strategy..
