Mails cant be sent from SAP ( quality server ) to lotus notes

Hii all,

I can able to send mails from production server as well from development server to lotus notes but am not able to send mails from quality server.

We are using Node SMTP using INT( Internet mail address) for all the servers and we have maintained the same parameters ifor all in transaction SCOT.

When ever we send a mail from quality server to lotus notes an error status appears in transaction SOST. when I click on that, a pop up screen appears saying that "Cannot process message, no route from sender to xyz@abc.com.

Please suggest me the problem and solution for the same ASAP.

Regards,

Ganesh Nag G.

Hi Ganesh,

Check also if the address xyz@abc.com is declared as authorized in the SMTP node.

hello,

pls check which port is used in scot (usually it is tcp ip port 25).

this port needs to be opened (possibly closed by firewall) from the sap

server to the smtp server. You can check this by:

- open dos cmd prompt

- telnet <smtp server> 25

if you get a blank screen, the port is open. If you get an error message, you

need to investigate the error - probably the tcip ip port is closed.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ganesh,

Can you help me, i'm trying to configure SAP to send mail thru Lotus Notes. I made all configuration in SCOT node INT but when i try it i always got an error message ( can't connect to smtp server on port 25 ) .

Do you have a step by step or a configuration guide for this ?

PS : I work on ECC 6.

Best regards

Hi Ganesh,

Check that the SMTP port of the Lotus Notes server is open, also check the the ip or hostname of the server is properly configure in SCOT.

Also check that sending user has a email configured in SU01.

Thanks Juan and Olivier,

As a company policy, the concerned networking person had blocked the port number since it may send mail to external people while testing.

Anyways thanks for the cooperation.
