Second Inspection of bought-out Material

Dear Sir,

We have a following scenario :

GR was made for 2 nos qty of an Item x . Inspection lot was for 2 nos qty . During the inspection 1 nos qty was accepted and 1 nos qty rejected . UD is to be made for 1 nos qty only .

Subsequently due to urgent need for the item , decision is taken to re-inspect the rejected material and now want to accept the earlier rejected 1 nos qty .

Kindly guide me , how can we accept the material as a second approval .

Rgds

    Hi

when you have rejected, where did you post rejected quantity? If you have posted to blocked stock, You can use Inventory transaction using movement type 322 and brioing stock to Quality Inspection. For that you need to have inspection type 08 in the material master, also you should have inspection plan for the same.

Then once stock is moved from block to Quality inspection, you can enter results and give UD and move it to Unrestrcited use.

you need another inspection type in your material master, like 09 recurring inspection.

then you can create another inspection lot and to a UD.

    Talk to your QM guys.

If you stock is now in blocked stock status, then you can directly transfer it into unrestricted status with standard MM movement type, no need to go via usage decision.

If it is just batch status restricted use, then you can manually change the status in the batch with MSC2N

    Hi,

If you posted the rejected material to blocked stock, then go to create notification & bring the stock again to quality inspection stock. Then do the quality inspection & post the stock to unrestricted.

If the rejected material was returned to vendor, then simply post another GRN & the stock will come to quality inspection. Do the inspection & then put the stock to unrestricted use.

    Regards,
