background job

hi,

i have a program whicn has to take the data from the file on the presentation server. this works out now i have data in my internal table n do some processing n display it..

My problem is when i run this program in foreground it works out.. but when i run it in background the backjob has the status "Canceled"..

i don know y..

this program used to run in background some time back but suddenly i m facing this problem..

    Hello Neha,

    If the report is executed in background the file should be from Application server. If the report is executed in BG get the file from APP. server.

    Hi,

    Your program may contain WS_UPLOAD/ WS_DOWNLOAD as these will work on for Foreground.

    You can use OPEN DATASET & CLOSE DATASET by putting the file in application server.

    uploading data from the presentation server needs contact to that presentation server which you do not have with programs running in background-mode. change your file-reading to 'data from application server'.
