ALV output with checkbox

Hi guys,

I developed ALV hierarchical Report with check boxes for header data and item data also.

Here my req. is if i select header record checkbox, the corresponding item record checkboxes should be selected automatically and i have 'SELECT ALL', 'DESELECT ALL' buttons in menu, if click this button all records should be selected aoutomatically.

I tried with 'USER_COMMAND', but it is not working. if anybody have an idea pls. let me know.

Build Fieldcatalog for ALV Report

There are a number of ways to create a fieldcat.

For the purpose of this example i will build the fieldcatalog manualy

by populating the internal table fields individually and then

appending the rows. This method can be the most time consuming but can

also allow you more control of the final product.

Beware though, you need to ensure that all fields required are

populated. When using some of functionality available via ALV, such as

total. You may need to provide more information than if you were

simply displaying the result

I.e. Field type may be required in-order for

the 'TOTAL' function to work.

Hi,

In the user command you need to refresh the ALV to get the selected data displayed.

you must have written a logic to select all and deselect all.

just do

RS_SELFIELD-REFRESH = 'X' .

in the user command as this will update the processed data on screen.

Hi ashwin,

i need one clarification from you. if u have the button 'select all' in the menu, why do you need to selct the Header record Checkbox.

you can just write the code as, if the 'select all ' button is triggered , read the item record check box and assign 'X' to the checkbox. then automatically all teh item records will be selected.

I need one more clarification. In the report if i select header checkbox, the corresponding item records checkboxes should be selected automatically, here after selecting header checkbox i have to press some push button(like Refresh) then only itemcheck boxes getting selected, but here my req. is without clicking any button item checkboxes should be checked automatically.
